Christine Baldwin

Born in Brooklyn New York, the daughter of an artist Howard Baldwin, Christine became interested in the arts early on. Creativly she started self drawing anything that came to mind. With no formal training, her art was strong enough to earn her a scolarship to attend Pratt University. There she study fashion illustration for a short period of time. Then her life took a different turn.

She married and moved to Panama with her new military husband. There they spent much of their time exploring the jungle and learning about wildlife. She continued to paint, draw, and took classes at the Canal Zone Jr. College. Four years later they moved back to the United States and she continued her education in the arts.

Upon her move to California, she started a family and showing dogs. With the experience around dogs and learning their anatomy she was ask to illustrate a book called A Dog For You for the Carnation Company. This finely illustrated book on different breeds of dogs began the launch of her public display of fine artwork. She was then hired on consignment to paint various animals at the LA Zoo for their displays.

A Few years later she got a job grooming dogs. With all of the hands on work with the dogs, she proceeded to start sculpting. She left the groomers and took a job at a foundry, where she learned the skill of mold making and the lost wax process of bronze. After a couple of years she left the foundry and decided to dedicate herself full time to becoming the accomplished artist she is today.

She set up a studio in her home where she creates, makes the mold, patinas each of her sculptings, and selects the Italian marble that mounts each bronze. Spending several hours to several months capturing the essence of the breed before the finial process of casting it. The original sculpture is sculpted in wax, allowing Christine to capture the smallest details. After the original is sculpted, she makes a latex rubber mold, formed in two halves to encompass the piece. Once the mold has cured, the two halves are separated, and the original wax sculpture is removed, revealing the mold cavity. Additioal wax pieces may now be poured to the limited edition of 50. Chris then inspects and hand details each wax piece to eliminate any imperfections and insure accuracy. The final step is the lost wax process of bronze which has been around for over 5,000 years.

As of today Christine has sculpted close to one hundred of the top breeds reconized by the AKC. She continually adds to her to her collection for the most desired breeds. She has also scuplted many other pieces of art as well, such as American Indians, horses, and other small animals. Christine's work can be found in many museums both in the U.S. and abroad as well in the private collection of many AKC dog owners, celebrities, and even Buckingham Palace.

Nicole Fischer

Born and raised in California by her Mother renowned artist Christine Baldwin and her Father a Zoologist, is new to the art business. While a young girl she found herself mimicking her mom by drawing animals. In High School she took classes in art to become more aware of the different techniques used. While in college taking business classes she started to help her mom in her booming art business by cleaning up waxes to be prepared for the bronze process. That is how she learned the body anatomy of amimals and different techniques used to create specific looks. She found herself enjoying three dimentioal art and started sculpting her own pieces sometimes using clay or wax, depending on the details she wants to capture.

She chooses to develop her own line of wild life and horses because of the influences of growing up around many different types of animals and owning horses of her own. She loves to sculpt wild animals because she is so drawn to their look. Horses because of their beauty and strength. She will continue to explore other options to sculpt however, not to limit the possibilities.

Some of her pieces are cast up in bronze, while others in a high grade resin. Bronze done up for their longevaty and old world style. While resin is done up for their affordabilty. Each resin piece are hand painted by Nicole to give them their own unique look.
